KJ's won two events here at Innisbrook: The Tampa Bay Classic in 2002 and The Chrysler Championship in 2006. As many people know, KJ loves to change clubs. Usually KJ would change his driver and irons almost every week. This year, KJ's changed one club - putter - the entire year (making my job as website updater much easier). What happened this year, and why hasn't KJ been changing clubs so frequently?
"I found the club and ball combo I'd been looking for my whole life." said KJ.
I'm going to take his word on that, because after playing 7 events this season, KJ's already got a top three and four top 20's. He's also moved almost 50 places in the FedEx cup point standings. What a phenomenal start to the season! Needless to say, with all the puzzle pieces of his game locking into place, KJ will do well at this event. After the Northern Trust Open, KJ took three weeks off to stay home and spend time with family, and in a recent interview regarding KJ's condition, he says he's never felt better before. During his time away from the competition, KJ practiced alongside fellow Korean golfer DH Lee at KJ's home-course, Vaquero Country Club (click here to see some photos).
